The Foolishness of the Most Intelligent Creature

There's virtually no arguing the fact that man has claimed he's the wisest, most intelligent, highest creature ever to walk the face of the earth. In fact, he's proved this in many respects too numerous to count. He has developed in all aspects. He has built things the mind couldn't have attempted to think of many years back. He has so advanced that he now flies to reach distances that wouldn't have been reached in months if we're still trekking. Today, such distances he reaches in hours. He has invented all and sundry, and his laboratories are ever busy. In every aspect of life he's left his footprint. What more can I say to this genius? Congratulations to man! You've done exceedingly well. You've made things easier, and you've promised to do even more. However, Dove's Heart will NOT forget to tell you the truth - something you've conscious left out in all of your achievements.
How did you come about the complex idea of flying in the air without the simple idea of sharing with one another? How did you come about the complex and costly idea of sophisticated weapons without the simple and cost-free idea of making peace? Just how did you know that we could use artificial satellites to make the world a global village, without bothering to think out how to use our mouths and hands to make the world a family of humans living in harmony? You make guns, bombs, daggers, nuclear weapons and what have you, without even pausing a second to  try another invention: a world of peace. Why?
My heart bleeds! Everyone wants to be at peace, but not everyone seeks it. I go out every single day to see what people face; I see in the news what people are doing; listen to people's stories, and it all tells me we've successfully made our race the worst thing to ever walk the earth! We all want to have personal peace, but only a few are peaceful. What a wicked world inhabited by those who claim to be the highest breed of creatures! For how long shall we continue to secretly invade countries, tearing them apart and wrecking their resources? How long shall we continue to develop more and more weapons for money, instead of more and more of peace for humanity? How long till we stop killing children who've never done us any wrong, innocent lilies who know no hate? How many drums of tears do we want to see people shed till we stop wars and conflict?

Africa has been drained of her resources, Syria has been brought to ruins. Blacks don't feel secure in the mist of those whose only difference is in the colour of their skin. Women scream unheard in silent places as a result of those who take pleasure in rape. What about those laws that our governments make just to favour a few? I don't want to talk about the thousands of absolutely innocent people the police never stop killing. Religion kills from here, science kills from there. Did God command violence and we blindly obeyed? Or is the devil the one to blame? Have our Presidents and lawmakers made laws that send us to carry guns and we blindly obeyed? Or is the human freewill the one to blame? Tell your God/god that the killing is enough, and that you now want peace for all. He or she or it will listen. Tell your government that enough is enough. Tell them that Bornu State in Nigeria can be rebuilt, Burundi can be at peace, Iraq can smile again, France can see joy, and the Vietnam memory can be erased from our hearts forever. Tell your mind that humans are free to make choices, but that your choice doesn't need to make another cry all day.
Thanks to the media that shows us how far the world has gone in holding peace talks. Thanks, also, to those who get involved in these processes. But are these meetings and huge sums of money all that we need to restore world peace? The world has invested all the money, held all the events, spent all the resources needed to see peace. But something still stands out untapped. When I think of the possibility of getting things right someday, I'm quickly reminded of the insincerity of humans - the single problem that has made world powers, peace-builders, clergymen and women, professionals, Non-Governmental Organisations, and the international community - to fail to make peace stick. How will peace stick when we're not sincere about it? How will peace stick when we don't see others as humans? How will peace stick when mere colour means division? Please tell me, how will peace stick?! Man, the creature who claims to have the highest level of knowledge there is, is actually showing his foolishness by simply failing to make the world a place of joy, a place for all.
I am Dove's Heart, and I've learnt from the very nature of a bird: the dove. It's peaceful and loving. It doesn't hurt. Doves don't allow jealousy, colour of their feathers or resources to separate their world. It might be shameful that we have to learn from a mere bird. But if that's what we need to make the world a better place, then let's learn from the dove. Next time nations want to go to war, please, let the presidents and lawmakers of those nations go to the battlefield and fight, rather than sending their innocent populations to go and die for nothing! Soldiers are humans, battlefield doctors have families. Let peace reign once and for all. We can invent this one, too!
